Master Data Services (MDS) provides a platform for master data management; enabling you to create definitive data models for business entities and hierarchies. With MDS you can enforce consistent data representations of business entities across applications and systems, helping you ensure that the entire enterprise has a single view of the business.

Both DQS and MDS can be easily integrated into SSIS data flows. You can use DQS to cleanse data while in-flight, and the SQL Server-based MDS staging tables and subscription views mean that SSIS can be the “heart” that pumps data from diverse systems through the master data management hub to ensure its consistency and standarization.
